The Economy
The economy sucks right now. It can be fixed fairly easily, people just need to sacrifice a little of their own well-being for the sake of the nation. The country is in debt. Everyone knows that. To eliminate debt the nation needs more income with fewer expenses. This means higher taxes and less spending. The easiest way to cut spending is to scale government down. It's too big and too bureacratic, and government could easily be shrunk and simplified. Get fewer programs and fewer employees. It's a pretty simple concept, but nobody wants to have their program or their job eliminated, so people resist the idea of a smaller government. It's a tough pill to swallow, but eventually America is going to have to kick its addiction to excess. This means fewer programs and higher taxes. It's going to happen sooner or later, so why not start now? Make the government a smaller and less costly entity, and things will start running more smoothly. That's my plan to save the economy.

Sammi - I agree with this wholeheartedly. If the government scaled down we would have less spending. The national debt is a huuuuuge problem that needs to be solved sooner rather than later or we're gonna be in serious trouble. Bite the bullet now while it'll hurt less than later.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty solid stuff. I agree that the nations people should give a little. this would truley be a big pill to swallow
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with this however like you said it is going to be hard to get people to pitch in. If everyone gives a little then no one person has to give everything. The longer we wait the worse and harder it is going to get.

I agree 100% people need to take a hit for their country in order to better the country as a whole. Most people are just to selfish to give up their job. Which with the way the economy is you cant really blame it but if people wanbt the economy to get better they have to put their own wants/needs to the side for now.
